I have lived in the valley for over 40 years but was raised in Geraldton Ontario until the age of 9. Where is Geraldton you ask? Well, it's two hundred miles north of Thunder Bay in the middle of nowhere! The mosquitoes are larger than life and the winters are long and cold. We moved from a 1500 person town to Vancouver City! So many new adventures in the city and we grew to love it. Then, our family was transferred to Alaska to work on the pipeline. As a 12-year-old, I cried for days thinking we were going to live in an igloo not realizing it was going to be my favorite place to live ever! Waking up to a herd of buffalo on your front lawn and experiencing 22 hours of daylight in the summer months are stories for future grandchildren.
